Sveti Petar u Šumi is a small village at the intersection of roads that lead from Pazin, Žminj and Kanfanar to Kringa and Tinjan, or towards the sea. In the center of the village, there is the baroque church of St. Petar i Pavle, which was completed in the 18th century, the monastery with stone walls surrounded by a garden and a large square in front of the church and monastery, town hall, Croatian reading room, school, sports hall and kindergarten and several dozen houses. On the other areas of the municipality are located 27 villages and hamlets.
The village has a number of families are involved in agritourism.
